Details

libavmdnsnotify.so is the client / server DNS notification API.

The server registers through the dnsnotify_server_init function. This is only used by multid.

The client registers through the dnsnotify_client_init function. This is only used by ctlmgr.

The server uses the dnsnotify_server_notify function to send EVENT_DNSNOTIFY_EVENT avmipc events to all clients.
This is only used by multid.

A client may use dnsnotify_client_query to send a EVENT_DNSNOTIFY_EVENT_query avmipc event to the server.
The server then responds with an EVENT_DNSNOTIFY_EVENT avmipc event. This function is not used (yet?) at all (fw 7.90).
